While all of us at PSG were wrapping up product during the holiday season to ship to our amazing customers, we couldn’t help but feel thankful for all the love and support we’ve been receiving these past six months since we launched back in June 2020. And as the crazy year of 2020 wound down to an end, we reflected on our experience as a new online golf company and naturally we thought about sharing some of the highlights of our early history as a company and our growing community of followers. Below is our top five moments for 2020 (in no particular order), and if you read between the lines then you’ll pick up what we’re putting down for this brand new year:
#5 Our Custom Shoe Giveaways
What can we say, we love prize giveaways. Honestly, as a new company, there’s nothing better than announcing a new custom shoe giveaway on social media and seeing the flurry of tagging friends that takes place, as we feel the excitement from all of you of possibly becoming the very lucky customer hearing your name called to win something amazing, such as the Nike Off-white Air Force 1. If you’re unaware of us giving away said shoes… yeah, we did that, and it reminds us of the old Seinfeld double dip the chip moment.
As some people have told us, “You gave away once, and you gave away again. You should just do it once, and end it!” To that we say, “You give how you wanna give, we’ll give how we wanna give.” Bring on 2021!
#4 Calling out Brooks and Pumping Up Bryson
Not that Bryson needs any more pumping, but someone had to come out in defense of his current impact on the game and, at the same time, say something about the all-to-visible childish shading thrown his way from none other than Mr. Brooks Koepka. Although we don’t want to continue beating the proverbial dead horse within this post, check out the post from yours truly – if you haven’t already – and share your thoughts on the matter, as the friendly, fiery debate that ensued was a wealth of enjoyment for all of us at PSG. And with another golf season underway with the Sentry, there’s no telling what fiery debates we’ll have this year. Quick question: how did Brooks do at the Sentry Tournament of Champions this year?
#3 Protecting Your Clubs in Style
Reflection wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t recognize what we’re ultimately here to do, which is to provide custom golf product to golfers around the world. We started out setting a goal of offering gorgeous custom golf headcovers in a variety of styles, for a variety of golfers’ tastes, and we’re proud to accomplish such a goal so far. But we’re still in our infancy and growing more and more every day. Will a new year mean new product? Well, it doesn’t take a psychic to read between these lines.
#2 Our Beautiful Birth
Speaking of infancy: not only has it been a mere six months since our inception, which brings challenges in its own right, but we also came to be during one of the craziest world events in recent history. We had a lot of question marks leading up to our launch, with much hesitation, but we did what every golfer should do when they’re within striking distance on a par 5: we went for it with gusto, because we DO NOT LAY UP. And are we ever glad that we did. The response from the golf community has been – to put it lightly – incredibly gracious, and it makes us love what we do and enjoy every minute of it. Being born is always something to celebrate, and we already cannot wait until our one year anniversary, because you know we’ll find some way to make it rain (figuratively speaking, of course).
#1 Building A Community
We’ve touched on this throughout this post, but the #1 moment of reflection (I know, I know, no particular order, blah blah blah, but this one is truly our number one) is you, dear reader, and the rest of our growing online community. All you have to do is take a look at the DM below from one of our newfound friends to get a sense of why we do what we do:
Golf is more than a game; it’s a way of life. It’s a way to come together to share laughter, comradery, excitement, and pure enjoyment. It’s a way to challenge ourselves to not only be better players, but also to be better people. It’s a way to give back to our communities, and to grow in numbers so that more people can take part in what we golfers are so fortunate to already have. With this in mind, keep swinging, keep scoring, and keep sharing the love with as many people as you can as we begin an exciting new year – we know we will. Let’s go!
